Welcome to our web site
The International Institute of Philosophy is the meeting place for philosophers from all countries and all areas of expertise. Founded in 1937 on the initiative of the Swedish philosopher Åke Petzäll, with the help of Français Raymond Bayer, Émile Bréhier and Léon Robin and thanks to a collaboration between the Paris Sorbonne and the University of Lund, the Institute cultivates continuous dialogue, shared experiences, exchanges and philosophical contacts. Established as a non-profit organization, with the notable support of the French Centre National de Recherche Scientifique, the French Institute and UNESCO, the Institute has nowadays a little more than one hundred members, who contribute to the blooming of philosophical dialogue across the world.
